Mark Twain “himself” (never one to miss a good time and a free meal) will show up on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Maxson’s Riverside Restaurant, 1469 N. Ill. 2, Oregon.

Meet Mark Twain “in person,” feast on roast pork, ride on the Pride of Oregon paddle-wheeler, and listen to music from the Backwoods Trio from 4:40 to 8:30 p.m.

Sponsored by the Oregon Rotary Club, the 21st annual Mark Twain Day is a coats-for-kids fundraiser for Oregon Schools.

Award-winning Warren Brown will be on hand for visits with Mark Twain, pictures, stories, and humorous commentary.

Brown has portrayed Mark Twain in more than 1,000 shows including state chautauquas and many corporate and educational events for groups of up to 400 people.

The cost is $30 dollars for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under. Pie, ice cream, and refreshments are included in the meal.

Tickets may be purchased from any Oregon Rotary member, Country Financial, State Farm Insurance, Edward Jones or at Maxson’s.

A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
