The Oregon Park District’s Reading Nook playground was officially opened on June 25.
“This property was made possible as a result of many individuals,” said Erin Folk, executive director of the Oregon Park District. “First, the donation of the property by the Ingraham family. Without their generosity, this opportunity would not have existed. Second, a thank you to the board and staff for supporting the concept and allowing the district to create a space unlike any other in the Oregon community.
“Last, but not least, a thank you to the Oregon Park District Parks Department. The district is very fortunate to have a talented group of individuals who have the ability to construct large and small park amenities which benefit our community in so many ways,” Folk said.
The Reading Nook is located at the corner of Madison Street and South Sixth Street, across the street from Nash Recreation Center.
