Dec. 24

At 2:31p.m., police responded to a disturbance call in the 300 block of N. 4th Street resulting in the arrest of Andrew N. Bjorkman, 33, of Oregon, for disorderly conduct. Bjorkman was also issued a state citation for being an intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway and a city citation for the ordinance violation of unlawful consumption in a public place. Bjorkman was transported to the Ogle County Jail.

Dec. 26

Richard L. Gallagher, 35, of Oregon, was arrested at 11:58 p.m. for driving while license suspended. Gallagher was also issued citations for loud, excessive noise – no muffler, and illegal transportation of alcohol as a driver. Gallagher was transported to the Ogle County Jail. These violations occurred in the 100 block of N. 2nd Street.

Dec. 27

Christopher J. Sproule, 38, of Byron, was issued a citation at 4:58 p.m. for speeding, 42 mph in a 30 mph zone. This violation occurred in the 600 block of N. 4th Street.

Travis L. F. Celestino, 32, of Rock Falls, was issued a citation at 6:26 p.m. for speeding, 44 mph in a 30 mph zone. This violation occurred in the 600 block of N. 4th Street.

Robert A. Geiken, 22, of Leaf River, was issued a citation at 8:38 p.m. for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. This violation occurred in the 300 block of S. 3rd Street.

Dec. 28

At 7:13 p.m., police investigated a car vs pedestrian traffic crash at the intersection of 4th and Washington Streets involving a 2019 Jeep driven by Mary E. McKnight, 47, Byron, that struck pedestrian, Rodney T. Pitt, 69, of Oregon. Pitt was transported by Oregon EMS to KSB Hospital in Dixon. McKnight was issued a citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian in crosswalk.

Dec. 29

Brandon J. Meinors, 33, of Oregon, was issued a citation at 3:25 p.m. for use of a cell phone while driving. This violation occurred in the 600 block of N. 4th Street.

Dec. 31

Stephen Webster, 26, of Dixon, was issued a citation at 3:32 p.m. for unlawful window tint. This violation occurred in the 200 block of S. 4th Street.

Jan. 1

Jolina M. Ramos, 28, of Dixon, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. on an outstanding Lee County warrant for failure to appear. Ramos was transported to the Ogle County Jail.

Jan. 2

Brody J. Stone, 20, of Oregon, was issued a city citation at 5:02 a.m. for violating the barking dog ordinance. This violation occurred in the 400 block of N. 6th Street.

At 7:05 a.m., police investigated a two-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Washington and 4th Streets involving a 1996 Ford driven by Nathanael G. Rittmeyer, 27, of Oregon, and a 2015 Nissan driven by Katrina D. Greer, 25, of Galesburg. Rittmeyer was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Jan. 3

Robert J. Ricks, 67, of Rockford, was issued a citation at 11:29 p.m. for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. A passenger in Ricks’ vehicle, Leih A. Steinhoff, 41, of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Rockford Police Department warrant. Ricks was allowed to leave the scene. Steinhoff was transported to the Ogle County Jail. These violations occurred in the 400 block of S. 4th Street.

Jan. 4

At 5:45 a.m., police investigated a car vs. building traffic crash at the McDonald’s restaurant, 211 S. 4th Street, where a 2013 Ford driven by Kayla R. Barton, 22, Oregon, struck the side of the building. No citations were issued.

Jonathon J. Wilson, 36, of Maple Park, was arrested at 8:15 p.m. for driving while license suspended. Wilson was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Wilson was transported to the Ogle County jail. These violations occurred in the 900 block of W. Pines Road.

Eight parking citations and 22 verbal/written warnings were issued from Dec. 23 through Jan. 5.
